I am gathering my nerve to try a microwave version of sponge or seafoam candy due to recent success with KA microwave peanut brittle. Would love to see you blog that candy process sometime... it is similar in taking the syrup to the 300 degree level, but uses dark corn syrup and more leavening for more bubbles & airy texture. With a bit of chocolate it is sublime.
