It’s honestly not a bad thing. I use fresh pumpkins in my own pumpkin pie, but I have used canned. The squash is actually better tasting than true pumpkins. However, this is why they recommend the smaller “pie” pumpkins for fresh pumpkin use. Since the true pumpkin is very mild in flavor compared to the squash and pie pumpkin. (The name eludes me at the moment. At any rate, by all means, continue to use the Libby brand. Most of canned pumpkin is squash, but the flavor is good.
