Hi Jenny, as long as your starter doesn't show signs of mold or a pink or orange streak or tinge, you should be fine continuing to develop your starter with twice a day feedings. The risk of stopping in the middle is that the fledgling starter hasn't fully developed its resistance to outside invaders, but if you aren't seeing any signs of contamination, by all means go for it!
