I enjoyed decorating my "broiler pan" apple pie with braids and cables for Thanksgiving -- would love to send you a photo! As pretty as the pie looked before it was cut, individual servings looked rather sloppy. Once sliced, the braids and cables were no longer connected and fell off. I likely will return to using a plain top for my apple pies. Oh and if you choose to brush the top with milk -- watch carefully as it browned rather quickly.
