I just wanted to chime in and say that I have been making boiled cider for years with my crock-pot. I set it on high with the lid ajar. One gallon takes 2-3 days to reduce (I turn it off at night). Sometimes I turn it to low towards the end to make sure I don’t make it too thick. I like to add chunks of fresh ginger, which I remove at the end.
