Hi Donna. We're not quite sure why your 4 frozen pies would have had a bitter taste. Generally, bitter tastes can be caused by an abundance of unreacted baking soda/powder and from time to time rancid/expired ingredients can exude a bitterness into foods. It is possible a cross-contaminant snuck its way into your pie filling through your apple preparation or your pies experienced a bit of freezer burn.
