We're sorry to hear that your crisp didn't turn out quite as expected, Gabrielle! It sounds like maybe the flour was unevenly distributed, was it whisked together with the sugar before tossing it with the fruit? If not, we'd recommend making sure this step isn't overlooked on your next crisp baking adventure. You certainly can use cornstarch here if you'd prefer, you'd use the same amount of cornstarch in place of the ClearJel called for. We hope this helps and happy baking!
