Hi Tammy! The thing about cream cheese frosting is that it holds up incredibly well for a while until it altogether fails, unlike buttercream where you can watch it slowly degrade overtime. For that reason, it is hard to see the problem beginning as the cream cheese frosting begins to fail. While it is hard to give an exact time frame that would exceed the limits of the frosting because it would depend on if the frosting was in direct sun, partial sun, or shade, I would not suggest leaving the frosting out for over 2 hours in direct sun in 100 degree weather.
