Susan, my favourite pie crust uses 6 cups flour and one pound shortening, and one tablespoon vinegar in the ice water. No milk powder or other additive except salt. Maybe that is part of the secret to its success? It actually needs to rest, preferably overnight, in the fridge. I have never had it turn grey over a week's storage.
