If your ice cream is changing between churning it and storing it, you need to make sure it gets colder during the mixing process. If the ice crystals form after you stop mixing then they won't be broken down into that smooth delicious texture that makes ice cream so amazing. Try chilling the base a bit longer before starting so that your ice cream maker doesn't have to work quite so hard to freeze it. Hope that helps Nancy!
