Hi there, Jay! You're welcome to give it a try if you'd like, but we too, worry that the dough will end up being too soft. Our Soft Cinnamon Rolls recipe already includes a tangzhong starter, so you could use that dough recipe but follow the filling and shaping steps from the Cinna-Buns recipe for larger buns with more layers of filling.
