Kirsten, I squeeze the water out gently just because it makes everything less drippy/messy, but it would seem they'd work just as well or better without squeezing — since water is providing the insulation. Perhaps, like the ever-shrinking "1 pound" can of coffee, the older strips were just thicker? PJH@KAF
