Hi Geri, thanks for your note. To best help our customers, we currently calculate shipping based on cost of merchandise rather than by weight. Since King Arthur Flour is primarily a flour company, many of the orders we fulfill are quite heavy and would incur prohibitively high fees if weight were the standard. You can be sure that we will continue to monitor related costs and best practices in order to meet the needs of our community. We also offer a couple of programs, including electronic promotions and our Baker's Rewards Plus program, which can both offer help with the cost of freight.
