It's truly my pleasure, Joyce! I tend to add the meringue when the filling is still quite warm. Our Classic Lemon Meringue Pie recipe says to put the meringue on while the filling is still hot. I usually just make the meringue once the filling is in the crust. By the time the meringue is whipped the filling is either still hot or fairly warm. Wheather you're spreading your meringue on with a spoon or piping it with a piping bag, I'd definitely recommend doing it when the filling is at least warm, if not hot. Happy meringue baking!
