I've never made them myself, Carol, but they can be done! There are newer recipes for sugar-free meringues out there that call for powdered erthritol, otherwise known as Swerve. Splenda also offers a meringue recipe. I'd recommend checking out the website of the brand of sugar substitute you prefer. They often have recipes with the perfect ratios of their products so you don't have to do any guess-work trying to convert a regular sugar recipe to a sugar-free one. Best of luck on your search!
