How about a recipe for schaum torte? My mother used to make this wonderful meringue dessert all the time, but that was when gas ovens has pilot lights. She left a thick layer of meringue in a 13x9 cake pan in the oven overnight with just the pilot light. It was crunchy on top and soft underneath (served with macerated strawberries or pineapple, also whipped cream). Gas ovens have electric ignition and no pilot lights these days.
