I make bread in my bread machine, Kitchenaid and by hand. It all depends on the recipe. I usually only use the bread machine for kneading/rising, but occasional I'll also bake in it. It seems to beat up add-ins such as raisins too much. I recently spent an afternoon with a friend and her 2 young children showing her how to use her new machine. While that was working, we made a second batch by hand. The kids (2 and 4 years old) had a great time measuring out the ingredients and kneading it. They were fascinated watching it grow, and getting to punch it down. Of course, their favorite part was tearing it apart and eating it!
