I recently made a strawberry flavored Italian meringue buttercream frosting for an office birthday celebration. I used the juice from pureed strawberries, strained the seeds out, and cooked it down to get a more concentrated strawberry flavored. It came out wonderful to frost a homemade strawberry cake made with real strawberries. It was a hit at the office. However, the meringue powder sounds interesting and I can not wait to try it. If it works as well as some of the reviews attest, I'll add the meringue powder to my baking supplies.
