Hi, I'm just an ordinary baker, like you!, except I learned my lesson a while ago after a bunch of bread recipes (sourdough) kept going pear shaped. Ugh! So I gave in and bought a fairly inexpensive scale (US$19)at my local Walmart. I've had it for over 7 years now, so if recipes go wrong, I can only blame myself. And they still do... Sigh.
I now only use my measuring cups to make rice in my rice cooker.
Yeah, I'm not a great cook either. Go figure.
