Hi Barb! I appreciate all the wonderful advice! I've had an AP starter for a few months now that has been well developed and fairly predictable. I usually keep it in the fridge and bake successfully about once a week. The last time I used it, I left it out a day or two longer than I should have (without feeding), but put it back in the refrigerator as usual. No extreme temperatures, no change in climate, nothing. Last night I took it out for its feeding, and got no rise this morning. Fed it again about 7 hours ago and kept an eye on it through the day, and nothing but a few bubbles. I'm totally perplexed. I think I'll try the alternative feeding you've recommended to other readers, and I'm wondering if spelt flour would be good for that? Any other advice is also appreciated!!
