I just started my 3rd starter. I am using AP flour . 1st. day it has a lot of hooch in top. So, since this is frustrating me, I poured it off (accumulated after only 1 day) , moved it to a new jar and fed it heaping 1/2 cup flour and scant 1/2 cup room temp water. Stirred it well and put lid loosely on it. 12 hours later I find hooch sitting on top. What is my problem. My house is 75 degrees. I can never see bubbles for the hooch. What am I doing something wrong?
