Thank you to Barb and the rest of the KAF gang. Being a first time experimenter with stater sourdough your help and resources have been invaluable in getting my project kicked off. I did find that the whole wheat starter that I built is incredibly temperature sensitive. The 4 to 6 degree difference between a counter close to the window and a cupboard that sits on top of the heating duct was the difference between a very low activity starter (which got my nerves twitching) and one that looks like a bowl full of foam.
