Hi Nicole, I apologize for the delay in responding to your question! If you feed your starter and see absolutely no bubbling within the 24 hours after a feeding, this is definitely not a good sign. If you have whole wheat or whole rye flour available, you might want to consider Debra Wink's Pineapple Juice Solution for starting over. I like her plan because it uses up less flour initially, and is meant to help avoid the lull in rising that sometimes occurs during the sourdough starter creation process. Once your starter begins to rise reliably, then you can switch back to our starter recipe, and once it's rising well with our feeding routine, then you should be good to go! I hope this helps!
