Hi Barb, I am on day 13 of a new starter. I have been following the twice daily feedings, but honestly, I have been late or skipped feedings here and there. I have lots of bubbles but very little rise. I called the Baker's Line yesterday and was advised to feed once with whole wheat flour and switch to a cheesecloth covering to allow for more air. Although I did see some mild growth (maybe 1/2 inch) and lots of bubbles, it was nowhere near doubling. I have fed it this morning, about 11 hours after last night's feeding, and noticed a little wetness on the surface. Anyway, its been only an hour and a half since I fed it, lots of bubbles, no growth. Do you have any suggestions for me? It seems to me that the doubling in size 6-8 hours after feeding is the key to using the starter. Thank you in advance.
