I started my sourdough starter from scratch 5 days ago with whole grain rye flour and filtered water. It started well with signs of bubbling by end of day 2. By the first feeding on day 4 it was doubling in size. I used bread flour or all purpose flour for feedings. By the second feeding on day 4 it was a little less robust. Now this morning on day 5 after sitting for 12 hours it is just quiet, very few bubbles. Smell is less pungent but still okay. I have not fed it this morning, not sure what to do. Let it become more active before feeding again? It is cooler in our house overnight although that didn't seem to hurt it the other nights. Thank you for your help!
