Hi Emily G., your new feeding routine sounds fine, but if you're not seeing much bubbling or rise, you might want to consider feeding only once a day with 50g of starter, 25g whole wheat flour, and 25g water. This feeding routine is designed to increase the acidity of the starter, which can help encourage the wild yeast to kick in. Keep feeding once a day until the starter begins rising predictably, and then you can return to your current feeding routine. Once it's rising predictably with the twice a day feedings, you should be good to go. Be sure your container is appropriately sized for your smaller starter, so that it has some depth to it (it's not ideal for a small amount of starter to be spread too thinly in a large container). Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
