I’m on day 8 of my fist starter. It’s not rising! I’m still feeding it every 12 hours. It is barely bubbling. What’s happening? Last night I put it on top of the refrigerator. Didn’t seem to matter (for any heat). It’s not cold in my apartment, even when it was 80° outside yesterday (I’m in San Diego) it didn’t rise. I’m using King Arthur’s AP flour and have been following the recipe for the starter.
