I've had my starter half a year. I was dealing with some fruit flies and changed its routine and I guess it got stressed out because then I saw a yellow line on top coming off the side like in the "throw this out" photo above. I saved a small amount from the bottom and fed that for several days and it looks normal. Is it honestly 100% unsalvageable? Wouldn't the streak come back if it's still contaminated?
