I followed the steps. In 3-5 days my starter did not grow. It basically had a dried flower skin on the top. So I mixed it up. I have a UV light and a Media filter in my home that kills bacteria. The weather was nice outside so I placed my jars outside. I brought them back in as the weather changed. I started to have some bubbles. It still didn’t rise. I thought maybe the King Arthur flour may be old. So I acted as if I was removing some starter and doubled my starter from 3 to 6 jars. It had a sour smell and taste. No mold of any kind. I started with 3. So I experimented. I used the rest of the original flour in 2 jars. Did 2 jars with rye flower, and 2 jars with flour I ground myself from wheat kernals. I did this today. So I am waiting for it to grow now. I didn’t want to wate anything and I thought by kind of starting from scratch I could make these jars grow. Did I screw it up or I just need to give it time.
