Hi, I started making sourdough starter four days ago using the instructions that came with a kilner kit, i.e. 60g flour and 60g water.no probs.it is unusually at the moment in the UK and the starter bubbled after just a few hours. I fed it as per instruction and on the third day it stopped rusing and bubbling and had a pink tinge to it.i am still feeding it but to sure I started another one yesterday and within 24 hours this too has a pinkish taint I cannot believe it has gone off so quickly. I have just thrown that one awaya and started again with a brand new packet of fllourbut now my eyes are playing tricks as I am seeing a very faint pink tint immediately after mixing it. I am using tap water by the way.
