Hi Marina, mold is a bit of a grey area. If you're still in the creation phase, I would recommend throwing it out and starting over, but if this is a mature starter that has been neglected for a time, it's probably worth feeding it at room temperature for a few days to help restore its health. Scoop some healthier-looking starter from the bottom of your container, and feed twice a day at room temperature until your starter is doubling about 6-8 hours after a feeding, and has a pleasant aroma. During this time I wouldn't use the starter or the discard. This will give you an opportunity to make sure that the mold doesn't reappear and the starter is performing as it should.
