A couple of days ago I got my starter out of the fridge after several months of neglect. I poured the hooch off the top and fed it. It responded after a few hours, so I fed it again the next day, leaving it out on the counter. Yesterday it rose to the top of the quart jar. I stirred it down, thinking I would use it today. Today it hadn't done much rising again and kind of has a moldy smell. I fed it again and it still.smells kind of moldy, but I don't see any visible signs of mold. I'm thinking I should throw it out and start over, but maybe I should just give it more time.
