Hi! I’ve tried so many different ways to make my starter and they end up the same way. On day 3 it completely stops rising. Maybe a few bubbles sow up but also no rise. I still feed it and it still does not rise. With one of my starters I fed it all the way to day 8 and no rise no bubbles and it smelled like wet flour/pancake dough. My current starter is on day 5 and day 3 and 4 had no rise at all and still has no rise it’s starter to loose it’s sour smell and is starting to smell like pancake batter. I don’t understand what I could be doing wrong?? I started this one with wheat flour and have been feeding it with bread flour. Our house is heated with a wood burning stove so during the day temp inside get between 74-82F and at night the temp inside drops down to 60-65F. I have yet to feed my starter and I just don’t know what to do. I’ve been doing 24 hour feedings.
