Ready to give up. Two starters started 6 days ago. One with 50/50 whole wheat and Rye, the other all rye flour. Using glass jars, loose fitting lids, de-chlorinated water, weighed ingredients, daily feeding, room 70-72F after 75% discard. Triple check weights, procedures, mixing. Nothing...

The starters look exactly the same and smell like gym socks. No rising or falling, no bubbles.
