As to the yellow streaks you saw, it's not normally a color we worry about, and if you've continued on since then with no further signs of discoloration, I wouldn't worry about it. On the other hand, on the first day if things aren't looking quite right, there's little lost in starting over, so either way you decided to go wouldn't be wrong.
