Hi Barb, I'm new to sourdough and just started my first starter one day ago using the directions/recipe her on King Arthur. My starter grew very fast the first day doubling in size. When I opened it after the first 24 hours and moved to the next step I also noticed a very strong smell like VERY over ripe bananas. After completing the next steps and setting it aside for the next 24 hours it grew in size again very fast spilling/forcing its way out of the large jar after only about 6 hours. Normal? Problem? Suggestions? Find another hobby? Thanks!
