I've just begun making my sourdough starter last thur so I'm on day 6 now. I fed it once a day from day 1 to 3. It doubled in size on day 2 after feeding. On day 3 theres a layer of hooch so i poured it out before feeding. I started feeding it twice a day from day 4 onwards but there has been no rising at all after day 2. There are a few bubbles on the surface and the texture is quite runny so I assume i hadn't been overfeeding it. I always use 25g starter, then add 50g whole wheat flour and 50ml water (1:2:2). I live in HK so the temperature is quite high (~85F) and it's humid. I wonder if that is affecting the starter? It doesn't rise at all so it's kinda frustrating...anything I can try to revive it?
