Hi Susan, I'm sorry once again for the delay in responding! At this point I think it might make sense to just stay the course and continue feeding with the twice a day feedings with AP flour. As I said earlier, patience almost always pays off. If you're worried about using up too much flour during this process, you might consider reducing the size of your sourdough starter, at least until it's rising predictably. Once your starter begins to rise, try to feed it when it's at its peak of rising, or just beginning to fall, which will keep the yeast active. Don't worry, one way or another, we'll get you baking sourdough bread!
