Hi Barb,
Like a lot of people in our current situation of being stuck inside I was looking for new hobbies and activities. As someone who likes to cook and bake, I thought that making some bread would be an awesome idea. I've been working on starting up my own starter and have been struggling to get it past a few days. It seems to be thriving after the first feeding but then goes quiet and never quite recovers. I've read that this is somewhat normal and that I should wait for it to show signs of life before resuming a regular feeding schedule. Is that correct? Should I try the 2:1:1 feedings and see if that wakes it up? Just looking for tips and tricks to get me on the right track because I am really excited by the idea of baking my own sourdough.
Thanks!
