Hi quick question, My starter is about 3 weeks old; I keep it at room temp on the kitchen counter in a glass jar and feed it once per day, in the morning. It started out a little slow, was kinda runny for about a week, and then three or four days ago entered a new chapter where it has this great slightly elastic foaminess to it and makes incredible bread. It smells very healthy and tangy. However today when I was using some to mix a dough i noticed the tiniest spot of pink. Everything else seems normal. All my internet search results say to throw out the whole thing and start over. yikes! I'm sure you won't have time to answer this quickly, so I'll just post this question for future reference, but did I really need to throw the whole thing out? (I did). Thanks for any info!
