Hi! I have a starter that I have been using to make pancakes and waffles and I feed it with milk and flour. I read an article on sourdough bread and it said to feed it with water (instead of milk) and flour. I was trying to use this as my starter base for bread. At the end of 24 hours of feeding with water/flour twice it is has risen but it has developed a hard crust on top of it and isnt watery at all.
Anyone have idea on why this is and how to fix it? Thank you!
