Hi Allyson, your starter should survive nicely in a cooler for several days, and I've even fed my starter on the road a few times with no ill effects. If you're traveling by air you might consider converting your liquid starter to a stiff starter and storing it in your checked baggage. I brought some starter back from my son's home in Texas this way, and it handled the journey quite well. Barb
