I have a starter that could potentially be many years old that was in my Grandfathers refrigerator. It is completely solid and dry. Almost like heavy dried drywall mud. No signs of mold or pink / orange streaks. It does not smell bad and actually has a pleasant bit of sourdough aroma to it. Any suggestions on the best approach to attempt to rescue this?
