I don't understand the difference or preference in the consistency of your starter? I'm a newbie. Does this come with time? Does it make a difference in the rise?
I made my first loaf yesterday... The dough wasn't rising at all. I got worried and didn't want to waste it so .I kneaded in a tsp. or so of yeast and kept going. It did work somewhat. I'll put it down as a learning curve.... Was this because my starter was flat?
