My microwave is a perfect proofing chamber as-is. It is a built-in above the stovetop, so I just turn on the 'night light' that illuminates the range below and that seems to heat up the microwave just enough to proof the dough. We are in the Pacific NW and keep the house at 64 degrees during the day -- I sometimes envy the rising dough's cozy warm spot!
