I used to use this method all the time. Back when I was a young novice baker, I bought the book "Bread In Half the Time" (it had great bread recipes along with recipes for bread pudding and bourbon sauce) which taught me how to rise bread in the microwave with a cup of water. I stopped when I got a newer, more powerful microwave. I didn't know if I'd cook the dough, but thanks to you, u will try that again. These days, I proof in a prewarmed oven. I would use the bread proofer my daughter got me, but I never seem to have the counterspace to set it up.
