Ah.. once I had to leave the house and 5 loaves on the top of the stove proofing. Asked daughter to bake them for me. She forgot and I had 5 loaves smooshed as could be. Luckily I had company coming so I made pizza with the dough. Worked great.
Did you ever hear of using the microwave as a proofing oven? Put an 8 oz cup of water in the back of the microwave... turn it to 10% power and run it 3 minutes. Then rest for 3 minutes. Heat 3 minutes again then rest for 6. Great for quick breads.
