Hi there! We're glad to hear that this cake is well-loved by your friends and family! If you'd like to cover this cake in fondant, we'd recommend covering the cake in a thin layer and also only using a thin layer of frosting. It will be helpful to refrigerate the cake to set the frosting and filling before covering it as well, to ensure that the filling doesn't start to squish out the sides.
