I made this for my husband's birthday and it was a big success. Though somewhat time-consuming because of the number of steps, it wasn't at all difficult. I made the cake and filling two days ahead and made the frosting and put it together on the day we served it. I used all butter for the icing and that is what I will do again. It will be more of a special occasion than every-day cake. But I am sure I will make it again!
