Michael, that's a good question! We experimented a lot with different ratios and combinations of ingredients, and eventually found that this recipe had the flavor and texture that we were looking for. Of course, we're certainly not the ultimate experts on what tastes good! If you'd like to experiment with different combinations and reducing or eliminating certain ingredients, we absolutely encourage you to do so. After all, the freedom to customize recipes according to your preferences is what makes home baking so much fun.
